Why do solar street lights need to Dissipate Heat?

Solar street light is currently a mature lighting solution for municipal lighting projects. At present, some rural areas have begun to gradually install solar street lights. As solar street lights become more and more widely used, problems will gradually increase during use. In particular, the heat dissipation of solar street lights is a major concern of users. Most of the current solar street lights use LED as the light source, but the LED lights emit light and heat when the current passes. In general, the main heat source is a large amount of current when the current passes through the LED in the reverse direction.

If the solar street light does not dissipate well, it will accelerate the lifespan of the LED light, and it will affect the lighting effect. The long-term poor heat dissipation will increase the LED light decay. Third, the accumulation of fever will cause the aging of the light holder and other equipment, which will affect the use. Therefore, the heat dissipation of solar street lights is significant. High-power solar street lights will also use aluminum light holders, and depict a shape with a better heat dissipation effect, and increase the heat dissipation area. For solar street lights to dissipate heat, the controller can also be adjusted to reduce LED heating. If the solar street light fan has a good thermal design, it can increase its lighting brightness, prolong its service life and the number of rainy days in continuous work.

Heat dissipation design is a very important part in the design and production process of solar street lights, and it is also one of the technical bottlenecks restricting its wide use. The quality of the heat dissipation design will directly affect the service life of solar street lights. At present, there are three commonly used heat dissipation methods for solar street lights.

1. Heat conduction plate heat dissipation: it is to dissipate the heat generated by the solar street lights to a conductor, and the heat is exported out of the light cap through the meson, thereby dissipating the heat. The conductor is generally a 5mm thick copper plate, which is actually a temperature equalizing plate, which equalizes the temperature of the heat source and increases the heat dissipation area;

2. Heat sink to dissipate heat: some street lights are equipped with heat sinks to dissipate heat, but the weight is too large and the risk increases. Accidents are prone to occur in case of typhoons, earthquakes, etc.;

3. Needle-shaped heat dissipation: The heat dissipation efficiency of the needle-shaped radiator is greatly improved than that of the traditional fin-shaped radiator, which can make the LED junction temperature more than 15℃ lower than that of the ordinary radiator. The waterproof performance is better than that of the ordinary aluminum radiator and also improved in weight and volume.
